Asphalt Shingles
What is it? Why Should You Use it?
Asphalt shingles are the most popular roofing material use in North America. They give an architectural and dimensional look to your home, is the most cost efficient, easiest to repair, and quicker to install than metal and rubber. It is hard to go wrong with asphalt shingles.
The Products We Use
At JP & Family, we use two different shingle products: CertainTeed and IKO. From CertainTeed, we use their Landmark series. From IKO, we use their Cambridge Collection. Both products are reliable and long-lasting shingles. The difference lies in your color preference! For more information on each product, please click on the links below:

How We Install It
You have the choice whether to strip your entire roof and replace it with new asphalt shingles, or you can shingle over your existing roof, although we do not recommend more than 3 layers of shingles. We use hurricane nails to fasten the shingles down piece by piece and have an entire crew working on it to ensure speedy and efficient completion. We can also do rolled roofing upon request. During the process, like all of our jobs, we tarp the walls to prevent any damage to your house and at the end of it all we clean everything up, so it looks like we were never even there–aside from your brand-new roof that is!
The Warranty: What does it cover?
Along with our standard 20-Year Workmanship Warranty, each brand of shingles also come with their own warranty. IKO comes with a 10-year warranty on their shingles with the option for an extended warranty that lasts 15 years. CertainTeed has what is called their “Sure Start Plus Warranty”, which is a 50-Year warranty that we pay for to benefit you! This warranty covers labor, tear-off, disposal, workmanship, and materials. Regardless, even top grade, only last for about 20-25 years. Our workmanship warranty we guarantee with every roof replacement covers what our crew physically did while installing the roof, but NOT any damage inflicted by mother nature herself!
Rubber Roofing
What it is? Why you should use it
Rubber roofing is used on flat or low-sloped roofs, traditional roofing materials like shingles and metal are not an option for these types of roofs as water sits flat and has no where to pitch so your roof stays dry.
The Products we use
At JP & Family, we use a few different types of products for flat roofs. Depending on the type of flat or low sloped or even the condition your roof may be depends on the type of rubber product we would recommend using. The three types of products we use is Certainteed Flintlastic SA, EPDM rubber membrane, and GACO roof. For more information on each of these products, please click on the links below:

How We Install It
Certainteed Flintlastic SA is a 3 ply-base system. It goes down fast. and stays on strong, using high-quality materials bottom to top, starting with the Flintlastic Nail base (mechanically Attached), to the Flintlastic Mid ply sheet (self-adhering), to the Cap sheet that is also self-adhering. No torches, no hot asphalt, no fumes, no mess. Easy to clean and faster to apply.
EPDM rubber membrane roofing also goes on quickly and easily; reducing down time to your home or business. This rubber material is rolled out in sheets and seamed together. Replacing the roof or repairing a section of the material that has been damaged is easy to do.
GACO roof is a 100% silicone roof coating designed as a protective coating to seal and repair existing roofs and permanently protect against leaks, permanent ponding water, and damaging effects of severe weather. This coating comes in 1 and 5 gallon cans that is simply applied with a roller or a brush. Once the first coat is applied, we allow it to dry thoroughly. before applying the second coat.
